The Bay Area is facing a workforce cliff in the skilled trades — and on September 23, 2026, we're doing something about it.
Built for the Bay: Levi's Stadium Trades Day brings together Chisel Industries, leading employers, educators, and civic leaders for a high-energy day designed to show high school students that careers in the trades are respected, essential, and full of opportunity. The day benefits the San Francisco 49ers Foundation, supporting its work with Bay Area youth.
What the day looks like
This isn't a career fair with folding tables and brochures. It's hands-on from the moment doors open:
- Trade activations where you wire a circuit, sweat a copper joint, run a welding simulator, frame a wall, or set a solar panel.
- Live skills challenges with prizes and bragging rights.
- A "How Game Day Gets Built" look behind the scenes at the trades that keep Levi's Stadium running.
- Direct access to employers, apprenticeships, and training programs.
- A live scholarship announcement — the day's headline.
Who it's for
High school students from across the SF Bay Area, and the parents, counselors, and educators who support them. The event is on a Wednesday on purpose, so schools can bring groups on a field trip. Student attendance is by invitation; any trades contractor interested in exhibiting can apply, and booths will be selected from those applications.
